Is This Not a Perfect Description of Where We are Today?

Read this quote from The Matrix where Morpheous describes the Matrix.

The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you’re inside, you look around and what do you see? Businessmen, Teachers, Lawyers, Carpenters…the very minds of the people we’re trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system, and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so innerred, so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will that they will fight to protect it.

That description is a perfect description of American society when it comes to laws such as the income tax and how we allow ourselves to be controlled by our government. The Matrix is an almost perfect allegory of America today.

I couldn’t help myself and I bought a pair of Vibram fivefingers shoes. Yes, there a five slots for your toes. Its like going barefoot but with a cover.

I’ve joined the Kindle crowd! My new Kindle arrived today. I played around with it or for a bit and I’m impressed. The screen is amazing and the cover I bought (one of the standard covers, not lighted) is very classy. I also really like being able to organize my books into collections, something you can’t do on an iPad.

Yes, I have an iPad too, but I decided to get a Kindle as well because of Amazon. The iBookstore doesn’t have much of a selection and they don’t have any technical books, which is the main reason I wanted to have an ereader. Amazon basically has any book that exists and for that reason I don’t have a problem with their proprietary format. Plus I love Amazon as a company and the Kindle just reinforces that.

Check out this great book on the income tax at www.taxrevolt.us by Dave Champion who was in the movie America: Freedom to Fascism.

I’ve read this book as well as Cracking the Code by Pete Hendricksen. This one is better and I think Mr. Champion has an even better grasp on what the income tax really is.
