My new Kindle arrived today. I played around with it or for a bit and I’m impressed. The screen is amazing and the cover I bought (one of the standard covers, not lighted) is very classy. I also really like being able to organize my books into collections, something you can’t do on an iPad.

Yes, I have an iPad too, but I decided to get a Kindle as well because of Amazon. The iBookstore doesn’t have much of a selection and they don’t have any technical books, which is the main reason I wanted to have an ereader. Amazon basically has any book that exists and for that reason I don’t have a problem with their proprietary format. Plus I love Amazon as a company and the Kindle just reinforces that.

It’s a Bluetooth phone as well as a camera and video phone. I’m looking forward to using the Bluetooth features, such as a wireless headset, and using Bluetooth software on my Mac that will make it do things like pause iTunes when I get a call, make my iChat status Away when I leave, and other cool things.
